"Scout"
Part Four

Fourth Week

Scout had been on line, worked obstacles and solved other problems. Now it was time to see how he handled a saddle on his back. We click targeted him to the saddle and he accepted it with little difficulty. We then longed and led him with the saddle on.

We decided to see how he handled mounting-like activities.

Getting up close with the saddle on
A little hug to reinforce not going forward
Flapping the stirrups and making noise
A few short lifts in the stirrup
It was getting late and Scout was showing quite a bit of anxiety about people "getting tall" when mounting so we decided to call it a day and desensitize him to people above him before throwing a leg over.
