Training Case Study:

"Black Bart"
Part Three

An easy to read freezemark.

First serious work day.

Sunday started out windy with snizzle (snow drizzle) but Sharon, Willis, Betty, Anne, Kathy and Lee came out to work with Bart. We started out with multiple people in the round pen getting Bart used to people in close proximity and being asked to move and face up.

A short while later we moved Bart into the 24x24 play pen and settled him to being touched with the pole. Bart didn't like the pole much at the workshop and he had the same attitude. When cranky Bart tended to swing his rear end towards whatever / whomever was annoying him so we had to fix that response by sending him off, no questions asked, when he tried the butt swing game. Within a few minutes he settled down nicely. About this time the sky cleared some and we could resume taking photos.

Whispering in Anne's ear.
Getting settled under the pole with Lee.
(There are mountains behind those snow clouds.)
Starting to respond to cues along with pole contact.
Settled in nicely.
Touching Lee's hand (with the wind coming up.)
Getting OK with Lee.
Getting a muzzle rub.
