  WILD HORSES of STAGECOACH
Part Fourteen

The Turf Farm Band

Visiting a domestic palomino gelding across the fence.
The previous day the road was clogged with horses. The domestic palomino was wearing a new fly mask and the wild ones were fascinated by it. One by one the mares would file by and sniff at the mask. As soon as they determined it was OK, their foals would stretch their necks up and check out the mask also. I wish I had my camera that day!
A little "communication" from the alpha mare.
(Note: On Sept 26th this mare was struck and killed on US-50.)
Road crew - Trimming tree branches off the road.
Horses in a "snoozing circle" at the end of the day.
A zoom photo of the horses.
