Corrine Davis decided to adopt River. She spent a lot of time with him on
basics using a number of techniques ranging from TTeam to Parelli approaches.
It was finally time to test her work.
Corrine started out with some ground driving. River did quite well in this exercise and didn't seem at all spooked by her following him and guiding him using the lines. Before too long he was reasonably proficient.

Driving around the ranch

We started working from a mounting block, however River would want to step away from the block when mounted. Since our objective was for him to remain still until asked to move, we decided to mount from the ground. |

Here's how things looked a couple of days later. After the usual ground work Corrine rode River for nearly a half hour. We started out simple, giving him something on which to focus. Pretty soon River was walking out on verbal and leg cues, turning and backing nicely. He never broke a sweat and never looked worried. | |
