"Black Bart"
Part Eight

  BART ART

Here are the pictures that Bart painted. (You can click on each picture to bring up a larger image.) He is pretty much an impressionistic artist.

  BART, THE TV HORSONALITY

Session Five, May 20th

Dan Miller and a film crew from the Blue Highways TV Network (BHTV) came out for the production of a feature about Lacy J. Dalton. We haltered Bart and worked on yielding, giving to pressure, walking over more complex simple obstacles and walking up and down the alleys as fill footage while Dan interviewed Lacy about wild horse mentoring and advocacy.

Bart experienced a couple of "sticky" spots early in the activities but soon fell into the routine of things, including being handed off to various people. In a few minutes he was dropping his head to look at the arrays of poles as he walked through, seldom touching a pole.

Not sure about Kirby, the "elevated" camera man.
"OK, he's not a cougar."

Sometimes it's hard to remember that this is the third time Bart was haltered and only the second time we attempted serious leading.

(We'll post a notice when the TV feature will be aired.)
