"Black Bart"
Part Seven

Bart on the lead line

Session Four, May 13th.

Bart could be haltered by one person. We walked him into the squeeze so he wouldn't try to turn away or start any avoidance games. Today was Bart's first serious day on the lead line and we worked on basic longeing and following on lead. We did this work over simple obstacles. Overall Bart was very light on the line. He occasionally got confused as any new horse would, but would get right back to work as soon as he figured out what we were asking.

Longeing Bart.
Facing up when lightly asked.
Starting to lead.
A fairly short lead.
Bart did so well we decided to let him explore his artistic side.
Studying the paint canvas.
Really getting into the art work.

Bart's art work appears in the next part of this series.
