At the request of the landowner this release was limited to the volunteers actually involved with the release project. This is a sensitive area of the range that, like so many other undeveloped lands in this region, is suffering increased trespassing, poaching and vandalism. Hopefully these animals will remain undisturbed and establish permanent territories in this portion of the range.

A few younger horses that were foaled in and/or spent considerable time in the state corrals, had become pretty tame and had not learned important range survival skills were taken in by LRTC to be put up for adoption. A link to an adoption list will be posted shortly.

A rational person would think that the Nevada Department of Agriculture would be grateful to the wild horse groups for getting the horses out of the corrals and onto the property of folks who want them. However while the State Veterinarian met with the horse groups under the pretense of developing management strategies, Director of Agriculture Tony Lesperans was putting his own plan in place - a plan to strip these beautiful horses from the range.
