Nani at Foster Care
|
Nani is a bay mare, believed to be 3 years old. She came in a bit under weight and appeared to be pregnant.
She was pretty flighty when she first arrived but we soon found her to be a very sweet and willing mare to work with. Her visit to KBR Nani arrived pretty edgy. When we would go in to clean her pen she would scramble and not pay attention to where she was running. We gave her a few days to settle down. We started working her with a bamboo pole and after a couple of sessions she started to settle down. Once she would get quiet, she paid attention pretty well and seemed to catch on to the lesson. Each of these sessions lasted about 20 minutes and our primary focus is going to be keeping her quiet and focused. Typically, once these mares figure out that nobody is going to jump them, they tend to settle in. |
