High Desert Kigers
Part Four

Maravilloso Kiger ("Mars")

Mars is a 1989 Kiger mare. She came out of the 1993 lottery and went to Wyoming and then was sold back to Oregon and I bought her from the people there.

High Desert Mariposa

Pam introduces High Desert Mariposa. She is also Wendy's (Clyde's mom's) baby and out of my stallion. She is a nice big filly with a very sweet disposition. Pam says she was hoping for some size out of this pair and it looks like she got it.

By the way, I hear she is for sale.

Steens Magdelina (AKA "Maggie")

Pam writes:

"This is a picture of Steens Magdelina. She is my favorite Kiger mare. She was born in 1994 and is out of Steens Adelita Rose, a mare I adopted in the 1993 Kiger lottery. Maggie is one of the sweetest horses I have ever known and has turned out to be a great producer. She always has my best babies which include Lucy and Don Diego.

Steens Adelita Rose

Rose is a 1991 model which Pam adopted in the 1993 Lottery. The picture was taken about 6 weeks after getting her home.

Steens Eleana

Pam adopted Eleana in the 1996 lottery and she was 4 at the time. I have been very pleased with her babies. The lottery horses seem to have great dispositions and are very well built. Elana is obviously very pregnant in this picture.

Steens Shaniah

Shaniah's mom was adopted in the 1996 lottery and she was born in 1997. She is a very spanish looking grulla Kiger filly. Her mother was actually the highest scored horse found in America by the Sorraia people.

This filly is going to be fairly big which Pam is pretty excited about. They will not ride her until at least late this summer as she is growing very fast. She is a real character and is always into something.

We thank Pam Fournier for sharing these wonderful images of her horses. Feel free to email Pam for more information or check out her High Desert Kigers web site. She does sell some of her youngsters to "appropriate homes".
