Peggy also needed improved stability so that her pasterns wouldn't strike ground when she walked. Danny improvised some PVC extension shoes and offset the "paddles" so as to support both the dropping pasterns as well as the joint angulations. Epoxy ribs were applied to the bottoms for traction. Peggy could now romp without damaging her joints.

The shoes were kept on only as long as necessary. The veterinary team wanted Peggy to work and strengthen her joints as much as was feasible. The LILT therapy was scheduled for periods of 10 successive days, with 10 days off in between.

She could now support herself for short periods without her "braces"
