Training Case Study:

"Rusty"
Part Four

Rusty Heads Out to be Trimmed

We needed to take Rusty to the LRTC pens in Dayton where he could be handled and placed into a safe squeeze where the veterinarian could safely anesthetize him for trimming. It was some considerable time before this could be arranged.

Rusty was drawn from his pasture into a small catch pen using his breakfast hay for bait. Once settled in we could approach him, get him to accept being touched and we haltered him. It didn't take long for Rusty to load quietly into the trailer.
