  ADOPTION ACTION
AT VALLEJO, CA

The Vallejo satellite adoption was held on the weekend of April 25/26. About 90 animals were brought to the sale. BLM found homes for 34 horses, seven burros.

Public turnout was light but steady. Selection was by lottery draw but most of the adopters who made it in time for the lottery got something that they wanted. A number of really nice horses were left over at the end of the sale.

(Adoption photos are being processed for this page. Please check back in.)

The Wildhorse Mentors put on a workshop next to the adoption area on Saturday and demonstrated their horses, nearly all of which had NOT been trained by professionals. Here were examples of ordinary people getting extraordinary results on their own through knowledge and patience with these bright horses. The horses in the workshop were presented with many obstacles and problems which they had never seen before, which they all accepted in typical mustang style.
