Willis Lamm's
Traffic Signal Collection

(And Street Lights Too)

Long before I collected traffic signals I collected street lights. It was 1966 and I was in 8th Grade. My school mate and neighbor, Kenny, and I would ride down to the town dump and get old street lights complete with their mounting arms for fifty cents each. The we would pedal them back home, balanced across the handlebars of our bicycles.

We fixed up many of these street lights and sold for yard lamps. A few we kept, and in fact 25 years later I installed some to provide area lighting around the ranch. As I put the traffic signal collection together I thought about also restoring these old street lights and using them to simulate nighttime in the collection. Here are the street lights in order of their restoration.
