EARLY STREET LIGHT DESIGNS

Here are some of the early versions of electric street lights from carbon arc lamps through more modern incandescent luminaires.

GE "Victory Lighting" of 1919.
GE Novalux lighting - carbon arc and "Form 6" incandescent lamps.

The luminaire housings were large as they contained isolation auto transformers.
GE Novalux "Duoflex." (The upper lamp would light if the lower lamp burned out.)
