C-H Polycarbonate Single Face Head

Clicking on a picture will bring up a larger view in a new window.

This polycarbonate signal with the CH logo was never licensed or distributed by Crouse-Hinds. It's actual brand was Chapel Hill. The signal is a knock-off of Crouse-Hinds' Type R, with additional stiffening ribs and double door latches to accommodate the more flexible polycarbonate material. Actually it is a pretty stout poly signal and the reinforcement ribs on the signal doors have a slight art deco look to them. The lenses are of Lexan with a pattern similar to Econolite's Lexan lenses.

Crouse-Hinds took exception to their basic design being used this way and soon after Chapel Hill ceased production.

Chapel Hill "CH" logo on the back.
Same aluminum reflector as used in the Type R.
Door with external hinges, dual wing nut latches
and lexan lens.
Classic profile view.
