Advocates Visit the
Nevada Republican Convention

April 26, 2008

On a particularly beautiful April day about 20 advocates assembled outside the Nevada Republican Convention in Reno to protest plans by the Nevada Department of Agriculture to remove a historic herd of horses from the Virginia Range near Virginia City, NV. Advocates carried signs and a number of horse trailers circled the convention venue decked out with flags and signs with the theme, "No Death Row Horses."

The advocates appeared at noon and were prepared to answer any questions that any curious delegates might have about the issue during the convention's lunch break. Unbeknownst to the advocates, the Republicans were preoccupied in riding out a train wreck. According to news reports the convention finally broke down without electing delegates to the national convention or completing other party business.

Things were much more pleasant outside on Virginia St.
