Horsemen Help Clean Up Public Lands

September 22, 2007

Some people think that our public lands are their personal dumps. Hidden away in relatively pristine high desert can be found huge piles of refuse and debris illegally dumped by scofflaws. The two horse groups, Least Resistance Training Concepts and the Lyon County Horseman's Association decided to do something about it. In celebration of National Public Lands Day they entered into a year long agreement to clean up a BLM allotment known as Stockton Flat.

Base camp.
Typical rubbish piles.
Clearing out cans and broken bottles.
Just one of the loads.
The groups will bring in tractors to do the heaviest work with BLM assisting with an additional dump trailer in which to cart out refuse.
