Norris is a smaller horse, probably around 3 years old. He appears as if he will top out at about 14 hands. He's well built, well proportioned and has a wonderful attitude. He is a red roan, looking more like a sorrel in his winter coat, but he will lighten up considerably in summer.
Norris is a talker. He's constantantly nickering when people come by. He was very curious about people from the moment he arrived. Norris was first sent to Foster Care in Lincoln, CA. We brought Norris down to KBR to work with him and within four sessions we could walk right up and give him scratches. His visit to KBR Ordinarily we spend some time polling and desensitizing horses before trying to handle them. Norris made it through this process in a matter of minutes. By our second session he was in the safe squeeze getting comfortable with being scratched all over. By our fourth session we could walk up to him and scratch him, he would face up nicely in the round corral and he was not at all spooky about people. Each of these sessions lasted about 20 minutes. |

On the fifth day we haltered Norris in the chute. He was pretty good about yielding to the halter pressure and we could ask him to move and reverse with little difficulty. At the end of the session he still was comfortable hanging out with people.
