Training Case Study:

"Thundercloud"
Part Two

A well built horse

Thundercloud with the mentors at KBR

It didn't take us long to figure out that TC was Peck's bad boy. A huge palomino mustang gelding was moved in next to his paddock and TC would constantly slip his head through the bars and challenge the big horse to "Come over here where I can bite you!"

The volunteers started desensitizing TC to humans, starting with offering hay through the paddock railing and then playing some simple space games in the round corral.

TC wasn't intimidated by the humans around him but he really couldn't see any point in getting up close either. We ended up making "safe contact" using the safe squeeze.
